Indonesian medias have always been unfair on the Israel-Palestine report. Things get worse when people dont bother to recheck to another newspaper, which are provided on-line (like BBC, NYTime, Guardian or The Jerusalem Post and Haaretz on this particular issue). Yes, those media could as well be unjust. But you might dig more facts by having more sources.
You read indonesian medias, you get the counclusion : IDF raided the ship and shot people around all of a sudden. That gives you the impression: these Israeli troops are animal!. But from all that all-week-long tvnews and pages-fulling newspaper report, you could not find a piece of information of these necessary questions:
1. Have the IDF warned the ship not to break the security blockade?
2. Which was the first : resistance or shooting?
3. Any victims on the IDF side?
Those reports are just babbling how mad israeli troops are.
Now, for my fellow indonesian, try to read another source. And by doing that you might discover these facts :
1. IDF have warned the ship not to break the security blockade, but the ship refused to stop. I doubt its authenticity, but this video shows crew's offensive respond to that warn.
2. There was also victim on IDF side. This soldier was (reportedly) beaten to death
3. The were attacked first then they fired shoots
If they intended tho kill the activists, they could have just done it from the helicopter, why is that so hard? Why did they have to broad troops on the ship?
The only convincing plot was, one of those troops intended to go to the ships captain, put gun on its head and threat him to fall the ship back, while the other back up.
Now this is exactly why i put the title so.
The stupidity is, they didnt consider the possibility of resistance.
They didnt expect the resistance. They should had been equipped with non-lethal weapon to overcome the resistance.
And under that unconsidered situation, troops went panic and fired a shoot.
